Checking In
Well, it’s been about a month. What gives?
First off, I’m getting ready to move from Springfield, MO to Austin, TX this month. The good news there is that I’ll be able to really help Obama come the fall in a more crucial state, even though Missouri is also both crucial and winnable.
Second, I’ve just been busier at work, and am getting ready to pick up yet another job.
Still, mainly what it comes down to is primary lag. Hillary Clinton and her nasty campaign have just sucked it right out of me, man. I mean, shit, her if-I-don’t-win-then-no-Dem-will attitude might just land John McCain in the White House. I’ll fight like hell to keep that from happening, but not for her after what she’s done. Really, looking back at both her past foreign relations decisions and the GOP-playbook campaign she’s run, what’s the difference between her and Johnny Mack? If McCain were to become President, then I’d brush up on my Spanish down in Texas and move to Spain. I’m serious.
I can’t handle four more years of this filth, and I’m guessing that the much of America, not to mention the rest of the world, is with me. I’m still feeling positive, I’m just not sure many Americans really care about the issues. Are we that stupid? Are we going to let Jeremiah Wright cause us four more years of Bush policy, ridiculous gas prices, a recession and the continuation of a lost war? The other day somebody told me that they still believe he’s “Muslin” (sic) because of an e-mail received. Are we that fucking stupid? Maybe.
Hope is not lost, and I still belive that “yes, we can.” I just didn’t have anything nice at all to say about HRC, so I was trying to keep my mouth shut and not go all Rove on her like she is on Barack. If anybody else was running–say John Edwards–they would have bowed out by now. Hopefully, we’ll win big in North Carolina and do well in Indiana on Tuesday and put a fork in the Clinton Restoration for good.
And I’ll be checking in periodically, just not as often. No worries–I’m still involved with the campaign and we’ll ramp it up for McCain down the road.
Stay tuned…
