The Brian Schweitzer Orchestra: A Rockin’ DNC Speech

Published by Adam under DNC, Speeches, Video

Yes, Hillary Clinton was awesome and graceful last night. Loved her speech. But Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer was my MVP speaker of the night. Bob Casey came on before him and was dry. He had great material, but his speech lacked oomph.

Schweitzer, on the other hand, had more than enough oomph. His speech was music to my ears. I think he has a definite future in the party, He (with an assist from Bob Barr) might be able to deliver his home state. And he’s the type of moderate Dem who can help the Democratic party continue to grow.

Check out his speech…

Full Transcript of Barack Obama’s Speech in Berlin

Published by admin under Barack Obama, Speeches

Barack ObamaThank you to the citizens of Berlin and to the people of Germany. Let me thank Chancellor Merkel and Foreign Minister Steinmeier for welcoming me earlier today. Thank you Mayor Wowereit, the Berlin Senate, the police, and most of all thank you for this welcome.

I come to Berlin as so many of my countrymen have come before. Tonight, I speak to you not as a candidate for President, but as a citizen - a proud citizen of the United States, and a fellow citizen of the world.

I know that I don’t look like the Americans who’ve previously spoken in this great city. The journey that led me here is improbable. My mother was born in the heartland of America, but my father grew up herding goats in Kenya. His father - my grandfather - was a cook, a domestic servant to the British.

At the height of the Cold War, my father decided, like so many others in the forgotten corners of the world, that his yearning - his dream - required the freedom and opportunity promised by the West. And so he wrote letter after letter to universities all across America until somebody, somewhere answered his prayer for a better life.

Video Of Obama’s “Instant Classic” Speech On Race

Published by Adam under Barack Obama, Race, Speeches, Video

Wow, I’m going to have to watch this again. Just so much to digest, but what a beautiful and bold speech. Most politicans wouldn’t dare give a speech like this in the midst of a heated political campaign, but that is exactly what makes Obama different and special. He’s a leader who’s not afraid to stand up and speak the truth.

The mostly glowing reviews are in…

Obama’s “Just Words” Speech

Since I just finished watching the NBA All-Star game, I’ll use a basketball analogy here. This speech is Barack Obama rejecting the Clintons’ “just words” argument shot into the third row. Get that weak shit outta here!
