McCain and Rove: It’s All Love

Published by Adam under John McCain, Swiftboating

McCain/Rove (BTTF)

If you reflect back on the 2000 GOP race, you’ll remember that it was Karl Rove who was the instrumental force behind the swiftboating of John McCain in South Carolina.Yes, dude was swiftboating before there was even a term for it.

Now, McCain has not only said that he is OK with Rove and would listen to his advice, but has also accepted a check for $2,300 from Rove. I’ve always questioned McCain’s pride and dignity after he became Bush’s bitch boy after the Bush camp destroyed his name, but I had no idea that his dignity could be bought for less than the price of a good Plasma TV. That appears to be the case, though.

Here’s a refresher video that shows things have never really been peachy between McCain and Rove. (By the way, this is nothing compared to the off-the-record stuff Rove used to smear McCain. They spread rumors that he was psycho because his time as a POW, that he was gay, that he was racist, that his wife was a drug addict — which was the only one of the allegations that is even partially true — etc…)

Taking a Stand Against the Google Adsense “Barack Obama Muslim?” Ads

The Ad (Kill Hill)Reading Donklephant brought me to this conclusion — I am sick of the B.S., libelous Google AdSense “Barack Obama Muslim?” ads running on this site and others. My brother and I are running ads on this site to help pay for our fees and, more importantly, our contributions to the Barack Obama campaign. Hey, we’re not rich, and want to give all that we can. Now that we are flooded with the “Muslim” and even John McCain ads, we are definitely rethinking our strategy. We are going to attempt to filter and block these ads (especially the Muslim one), or switch to just image ads to prevent them (I’ve only seen text versions).

Bear with us as we try to figure this out. We will pass along whatever we figure out…

UPDATE: Thanks to Donklephant, we’ve figured this out and blocked the “Muslim” ad as well as the McCain ads.

UPDATE:
Somebody asked about setting up a filter, and it’s pretty easy.

In your Adsense account dashboard you’ll click the Adsense Setup on the top and then click Competitive Ad Filter on the menu below.

From there it’s even easier, because all you do is simply copy the domain name into the box and hit the Save changes button below.

The URL in question that you’ll want to paste in there is this one: www.thefirstpost.co.uk. That way NOTHING from that domain will be able to show up in your Google ads.

Hope this helps.

The Clintons Also Connected to “Slum Lord”

What a couple of hypocrites the Clintons are. Here’s a picture of Hill and Bill hanging with Tony Rezko. Yes, the guy Hillary called a “slum lord” and accused Barack Obama of being connected to in the last debate. These Clintons are un-fucking-believable. When are we as a people going to wake up and decide that we are done letting slime ooze into the White House?

Bill Clinton: Hillary’s Hitman

Hitman (Kill Hill)

Bill Clinton isn’t as sly as he thinks he is.

(By the way, how could someone who’s been linked to as many affairs as he’s been — Gennifer Flowers, Juanita Broaddrick, Kathleen Wiley, Monica Lewinsky and Paula Jones, at least — ever really think they’re sly? I’m just asking.)

It isn’t just Dick Morris, a former Clinton strategist, that sees what Bill’s doing. We all see it. Iowa threatened his precious “Clinton Restoration” dream down to its very core, scared the Lewinsky out of him. That’s why he came out guns a’ blazing as Hillary’s hitman during the days leading up to the New Hampshire primary, and has played that same role ever since.

The Clinton camp thinks this strategy it’s working, but it’s not. They fooled us twice already, but this time it isn’t going to work. You see, Slick Willy is serving as a similar diversion to the one that his wife provided him in 1992. Bill thinks that if all of Barack Obama’s focus is on him that not only will it not be on Obama’s inspirational message, but the heat will also be off of Hill. I’ll give him some credit — it worked for a little while.

But Bill’s political thug tactics aren’t working any more.

Why not? There are several reasons.

John Kerry: Stand up to the “Swiftboating”

Here’s an e-mail from Senator and ex-Democratic Presidential Nominee John Kerry I received today:

Dear Adam,

I support Barack Obama because he doesn’t seek to perfect the politics of Swiftboating — he seeks to end it.

This is personal for me, and for a whole lot of Americans who lived through the 2004 election.

As a veteran, it disgusts me that the Swift Boats we loved while we were in uniform on the Mekong Delta have been rendered, in Karl Rove’s twisted politics, an ugly verb meaning to lie about someone’s character just to win an election. But as someone who cares about winning this election and changing the country I love, I know it’s not enough to complain about a past we can’t change when our challenge is to win the future — which is why we must stop the Swiftboating, stop the push-polling, stop the front groups, and stop the email chain smears.

The truth matters, but how you fight the lies matters even more. We must be determined never again to lose any election to a lie.

This year, the attacks are already starting. Some of you may have heard about the disgusting lies about Barack Obama that are being circulated by email. These attacks smear Barack’s Christian faith and deep patriotism, and they distort his record of more than two decades of public service. They are nothing short of “Swiftboat” style anonymous attacks.

These are the same tactics the right has used again and again, and as we’ve learned, these attacks, no matter how bogus, can spread and take root if they go unchecked.

But not this time — we’re fighting back.

And when I say “we,” I mean that literally. I know Barack is committed to fighting every smear every time. He’ll fight hard and stand up for the truth. But he can’t do it alone.

We need you to email the truth to your address books. Print it out and post it at work. Talk to your neighbors. Call your local radio station. Write a letter to the editor. If lies can be spread virally, let’s prove to the cynics that the truth can be every bit as persuasive as it is powerful.

The Obama campaign has created a place where you can find the truth you’ll need to push back on these smears and a way to spread the truth to all of your address book.

Take action here:

http://my.barackobama.com/factcheckaction

So when your inbox fills up with trash and the emails of smear and fear, find the facts, and help defeat the lies.

Barack Obama is committed to bringing our country together to meet the challenges we face, but he knows that power gives up nothing without a struggle — and to win the chance to change America, we must first defeat the hateful tactics that have been used to tear us apart for too long.

With your help, we can turn the page on an era of small, divisive politics — but only if next time you hear these attacks on Barack, you take action immediately:

The fight is just heating up — we won’t let them steal this election with lies and distortions.

Thank you,

John Kerry
